Under MAISA's direction, a joint workgroup of ISD leaders from GELN (General Education Leadership Network) and SEILN (Special Education Instructional Leadership Network) began planning in October 2024 following the signing of Public Act 146 of 2024. The group has developed resources to support 56 ISDs in implementing the law across Michigan's 835 public school districts.
Additionally, the GELN Early Literacy and Disciplinary Literacy Task Forces have curated and organized resources into a centralized PA 146 landing page, available below.
MAISA/MiSecure is proud to announce the expansion of our statewide security suite to include identity services. Following the successful model of our MDR solution, these services are now available at no cost to all Michigan ISDs, LEAs, and PSAs through 97g funding made possible by Ingham ISD’s leadership in securing the grant and serving as the fiscal agent.
The impact of this collective bargaining is already making waves. One ISD Tech Director shared that this move saved his budget from a $20/account renewal fee, noting he was "literally doing happy dances." This success highlights the stark disparity in the current market: while some individual district quotes for identity services have reached $69/account, our unified statewide front is changing the math entirely.

Michigan education leaders host a powerful week of collaboration ahead of the 2025-26 school year
LANSING, MI – August 13, 2025 – The Michigan Association of Intermediate School Administrators (MAISA) hosted Early Literacy education leaders from Michigan’s Intermediate School Districts (ISD) from across 10 regions last week for the Early Literacy Leadership institutes at the Amway Grand Plaza in Grand Rapids–marking the start of the 2025–26 school year!
