Consolidation of Service Studies and Reports

The Michigan Association of Intermediate School Administrators (MAISA) 2024 Consolidated Grants Project Charter outlines a comprehensive initiative to coordinate grant-funded feasibility studies under the 2023-24 State School Aid Act. These studies explore consolidating services and infrastructure across Michigan's ISDs and local school districts to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery. Projects include:

  • Consolidating and scaling network engineering services in northern Michigan (MiNOC).

  • Offering a statewide IT service desk (MiServiceDesk).

  • Scaling Cloud Services to ISDs and districts (MiCloud).

  • Building a central Cloud-based data storage solution (MiGreatLake).

  • Completing the connectivity of all schools in Michigan to the State Network (MiSEN Remaining Connectivity).

  • Regional provision of Internet security services (MiSOC).

Furthering these efforts, additional 12c-Consolidation Grant funding was awarded to implement the feasibility study findings. As required by Michigan Compiled Law (MCL) 388.1612c annual reports for the additional grant awards, MiGreatDataLakes, MiSEN, MiCloud, and MiNOC, are required. These reports are crucial for detailing the progress, impact, and financial stewardship of the consolidation efforts across Michigan's educational landscape. The reports further showcase how collaborative ISD-led initiatives for consolidating infrastructure, enhance services and create efficiencies.

This webpage serves as a central repository for documentation related to these critical consolidation initiatives. Here you will find:

  • Feasibility Studies: Comprehensive reports from the initial studies conducted under the 2024 Consolidated Grants Project Charter.

  • Quarterly Reports: Regular updates on the progress of the various consolidation projects.

  • Annual Reports: The 12c-Consolidation Grant Annual Reports for MiGreatDataLakes, MiSEN, MiCloud, and MiNOC. These reports provide transparent overviews of how grant funds are utilized, detail crucial performance metrics, and highlight the long-term vision and commitment to sustainability. They demonstrate the significant impact of ISD leadership and collaboration, highlighting enhanced connectivity and savings from MiSEN, empowered data decisions through MiGreatDataLake, secure and cost-effective cloud solutions from MiCloud, and optimized, locally led network access via MiNOC.
