St. Clair County RESA is a regional educational service agency, providing assistance to seven school districts and 11 charter schools. Established in its present form in 1969 by the State Legislature, the RESA works in partnership with St. Clair County teachers, administrators, students and school board members to strengthen student learning.

St. Clair County is centrally located on the eastern shore of the thumb, 60 miles north of Detroit. It is a blend of urban and rural communities, with the majority of our students coming from urban/suburban areas. Over 28,000 K-12 students are being served by the St. Clair County RESA.

The RESA serves the local districts by providing information and support in the following areas: curriculum planning, information technology services, student and financial management, communications, management training, special education, career and technical education, student services, business/administrative services, professional development, and legal services. The RESA also furnishes services for the community, including adult education classes, non-traditional career training, customized training for companies, for businesses needing specialized skill development, and employee screening for high technology positions.
