Manistee Intermediate School District serves four school districts, two non-public schools and one public school academy in Manistee County with enrollments of 3900 students.  Manistee ISD offers a variety of professional development opportunities, general education support in school improvement, curriculum development and alignment as well as Career/Technical Education programming. Manistee ISD provides classroom programming in an Early Childhood Special Education, Severely Cognitively Impaired, and Moderately Cognitively Impaired.  MISD has staff to service student referrals for school psychological services, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, school social work, diagnostic and /or teacher consultant services in numerous areas.  Manistee ISD manages athe Manistee County School Business Cooperative offering a full range of business services to the local districts.
