Macomb Intermediate School District provides service, support and leadership to Macomb County’s 21 local school districts and 140,000 public school students. Over 2,500 special education students, ages birth through 26, attend the MISD’s seven special “center program” schools. Macomb’s fleet of 140 busses transport special education students throughout the county’s 510 square miles.

Additionally, the MISD assists local districts with a full range of development. Other centralized services include: maintaining countywide payroll and personnel records, processing student report cards, and collecting summer taxes. REMC 18 is housed at the MISD Educational Center.
