This encompasses all of three counties and a part of a fourth. The total K-12 student population has declined in the past 12 years by nearly 15% to just over 8,000 students (including 200 non-public students). Within our area, there are 15 public schools, of which two are Public School Academies. Four registered private parochial schools also operate within our region. Overall, student population density is 2.0 per square mile. There are schools on three islands, one of which allows no automobiles and all are accessible by ferry. We believe that our primary mission is to provide our local districts with the most comprehensive classroom teaching resources possible. To this goal, we continue to extend our efforts on providing aligned curriculum and assessment resources and local professional development around district needs in these areas. Our on-line teacher resources are a point of pride as are the staff resources to assist local districts in a wide variety of needs. The EUP continues to be a leader in the use of technology to enhance education. Comprehensive ITV courses, web based data warehousing, and wireless internet connectivity are examples of the advanced technology resources in our region. Public school districts in service area: |
