The Dickinson-Iron ISD serves approximately 7,300 students in two Upper Peninsula counties, Dickinson and Iron. There are six K-12 districts and three parochial districts, with a service area of 2,400 square miles. DIISD serves special education students in on-site and center programs. Area Career and technical education students are served in the Dickinson County Center and the West Iron Center. Early Childhood Education serves preschool children and families through a Head Start Program, and MSR Program. The DIISD is a Mathematics, Science and Technology Center serving Dickinson, Iron and Menominee Counties. Two way distance learning classrooms are available in three locations. The DIISD provides financial, employee and student management services through a consortium to area LEA’s.
